Getting to know Kerry Diotte

Why are you running?

I’m running for re-election as the Conservative member of Parliament for Edmonton Griesbach because I believe this is the most important election in modern Canadian history. Canada can’t afford another four years of Justin Trudeau and his unethical, fiscally irresponsible, anti-Alberta Liberals.

I want to continue serving the public because I’ve spent most of my working life doing just that — having worked as a journalist for three decades, then as a city councillor who earned a reputation as a fiscal watchdog fighting to cut waste at city hall, improve core services and reduce taxes.

How did you choose the party you are running with?

I choose to run as a Conservative because it’s the only party that is fiscally responsible with taxpayers’ hard-earned money. I truly believe in our party’s motto this campaign: “It’s time for YOU to get ahead.”

I’m most proud of having been being part of what many people believe was the strongest-ever Official Opposition that held Liberals to account and managed to get them to back down on some of their most harmful and dangerous schemes.

What do you hope to get accomplished?

If I earn re-election I want to continue to give a strong voice in Ottawa to my constituents. Most importantly, I want to serve the diverse communities of Edmonton Griesbach by assisting the hundreds of people who regularly come to my office for help navigating federal services on issues ranging from Canada pensions to immigration.
